Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta) is a West African country roughly the size of the UK, but with less than 1/5th of its population. It is one of the poorest countries in the world, with a high population growth rate and few natural resources. Most people depend on subsistence farming, but droughts and desertification severely affect agriculture. Overgrazing, soil degradation and deforestation add to these problems. It is estimated that 29 people groups in this country remain unreached with the gospel of Christ!

Nigeria is a diverse country with a population of 140 million people and 426 tribal languages. Nigeria is often referred to as 'the giant of Africa' as one in seven Africans is from Nigeria. It is a land rich in natural resources, with tremendous potential for a successful industrial economy. Through the work of traders and early missionaries, Nigeria was exposed to European business and to the Gospel. However the need to train church leaders, provide medical and pastoral care and plant churches in the country remains a huge challenge.

Chad is a country of over 10 million people. The northern region of the country is in the Sahara desert and the southern area is made up of rich forests that sustain a natural habitat for wildlife. The President maintains a fragile democracy that operates under a secular constitution which promises human rights and freedom of religion. However, due to the economy being boosted by North African and Middle Eastern business, there is a growing Islamic influence entering the country. Chad has one of the largest number of unreached people groups in Africa; currently has 72 groups that remain unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ!
